Miik, Port Costa:
My name is Miik. And no, I think California should remain as one state. We are one of the strongest economies in the world and we should remain that way. Splitting it into multiple states will only weaken all of the states and it would also give the Republicans four extra Senate seats.
Tom, Point Richmond:
My first name is Tom. And yeah, I think California should be divided into three different states. I think it’s a good idea. It was proposed many years ago but has never come to fruition. I think there are so many different cultures and values within the state of California that just don’t mesh because they’re not harmonious and they don’t get along. There’s a lot of gaps. I think that is causing all of you risk. Therefore it’s a barrier to harmony within our culture. There’s just so much diversity that it’s become adversity, you know, just different groups and stuff. I’m a Caucasian from a working-class pleasant family. I came here many years ago with my family from Kansas and I’ve never seen it like this before. It was always different but never like this. Thank you very much.
